Champions!
27 years of hurt were ended in the 2009 / 2010 season as Haxby United were crowned Premier League champions. A record breaking start to the season set the first's on their way, but the title went down
to the last game of the season. Massive congratulations to Dean, Rich the lads and all the commitee.
TrailBlazers!
Haxby's first team are enjoying an unbelievable season in the Premier league after winning their 10th successive game. The 100% record is still in tact as we approach the mid-way point of the season,
and with games in hand on the league leaders this season is shaping up to be one of the best ever in the club's history.
Presentation Night and Pre-season training. 01/06/2009
The 2009 presentation evening is scheduled for Friday 26th June, 19:30 at Haxby Working Mens Club.
Tickets are £5, with a buffet and free prize draw. Pre-season is due to start on 13th July at Ethel Ward. An F.A qualified coach will be running the sessions.
Reserve A Champions! 22/04/2009
After winning last year's Reserve B title, Haxby United reserves went one better and have won Reserve A at the first time of asking.
The title has been won with only two league defeats, and capped a superb season as the team perfromed well in both cup competitions. A huge thankyou to all the players, and of course
to manager Mick Watson, and to John Leeming who together masterminded Haxby's first ever Reserve A title!
First Aid Course Opportunity 21/01/2009
In order to maintain our FA Charter Standard status, the club requires first aiders, one for each team. There is a course
being ran by the FA at York College on the 29th Jan. Anyone who wants to attend should contact Chris Watkinson.
Rogo back in Charge 20/12/2008
Dean Rogerson has returned to Haxby United as first team manager. Dean will accompanied by Rich Leeming, the two having worked together a couple of seasons ago during Haxby's return to the Premier league. We all wish the Rog Dog the best of luck for this season!
1st Team Management Saga Continues... 6/12/2008
Lee Bullock has stepped down from his brief spell at the helm of Haxby United's first team. After only being in charge for a couple of matches, personal reasons
have meant that Lee could sadly no longer run the side. In his place comes Rich Leeming. Rich has spent a few years as assistant manager, and as seamlessly moved up to the number 1 spot, winning his first two matches
in charge. We all hope his run continues!
Haxby United Awarded Chartered Standard 20/11/2008
Haxby United have been awarded the FA charter standard, demonstrating that the club is well organised and ran efficiently. This opens the club up
to funding schemes and coaching awards, and is thanks to all the hard work of Chris Watkinson, Paul Wishart, Rich Leeming and Steven Crouch.
Andy Mac Steps Down 15/11/2008
It is with deepest regret that Andy McMillan has stepped down from his
role as first team manager for personal reasons. Andy will still remain on the playing staff and is excited about been part of a team. The club
would like to thank Andy for all his efforts and wish him well in his future projects.
Lee Bullock will take charge of the first team, and here's hoping for another successful season with Lee at the helm.
Cheque handed to SNAPPY 8/11/2008
Before the reserve's derby game, a cheque for £2,800 raised by Haxby United was presented to the charity SNAPPY, following the clubs fundraising events held in the summer.
The local press photograhed the event, so keep your eye's peeled for the write up...
Snappy Fun Day 8/9/2008
Tragically, Reserve team manager Mick Watson's grandson, Leon Hicks, died earlier this year. In memory of Leon, Haxby United organised a charity day to raise funds
for the charity SNAPPY, who did so much for Leon.
The day's main event was a legends football match, involving ex-Haxby players, and many ex York City stars. York City legends Andy McMillan, John McCarthy and Wayne Hall helped the Legends romp to victory
over the current Haxby players. Besides the game, the were many other attractions such as a strong man display, a bouncy castle, face-painting, henna tatoos and many others. The day culminated in a race night, where
a great deal of money was raised for SNAPPY. In all £2,800 was raised for the charity. To find out more about SNAPPY please visit www.snappyyork.co.uk
