In a pre-season where the lions were full of optimism and a strangely large assemblage of players, there were strong hopes for the season. These hopes quickly disappeared on the morning of the Lions first game of the season when an hour before the game there were 9 players. A few phone calls later and a team had been found; new stand-in Captain, Matthew Boggan, was located and things were starting to look up.
A bit of vomiting before kick off and the Lions had a team, manager Trev handed a debut on the wing to new Lion's signing Richard Wishart. The game kicked off and was played on a lovely green pitch, which was nicely cut and the lines were white and looked really good with the green grass.
Anyway, with the first cup campaign of the season out of the way the Lions look to the league campaign which begins in 3 weeks and hope for much better.
