The night after Jaff's wedding, a jaded pride of Lions gathered in Haxby. It was a big pride too; Trev had 18 to pick from and plumped for the same outfield as last week, with Des Drummond back in the nets.
Inland Revenue were struggling for a side and this showed after 5 minutes when the Lions bagged an opener through Dransfield. On a fantastic pitch, the Lions played some great football and looked, despite the hangovers, like they were enjoying it.
A 50 yard looping strike from Pie was the highlight of a first half which finished 7-0. The second half was much of the same, with little resistance from the Tax Men. More goals went in - even a Tall Paul Wordon header! The game finished 12-2.
A damn fine start to the season, and in this form we're all looking forward to next weeks derby!
